The modern principal or AP is the wearer of multiple hats, both within the school and in the wider community. Like anyone else, school executives need clear parameters and expectations in order to be effective. CMS has devoted considerable efforts to ensuring that job requirements are closely aligned with district goals and State standards. | | North Carolina law requires all districts to adhere to statewide standards for school leaders. Using those state standards as a base, we developed a framework of competencies, skills and beliefs that principals and APs are required to demonstrate consistently. Those attributes are tailored to the special needs of the schools in our district. |
